I woke the next morning with a huge smile on my face. God is so good. Never in 1 million years did I ever think that I would be sleeping with just my sleeping bag on an exposed hill with vicious winds. But I made it through. Justin felt better and pushed on ahead of me.
My goal as always was water. I Met Dave and Dana and Dave’s son at Sunrise Trailhead. Got water and had breakfast. Also met a few other hikers there. It was nice just to connect.
It was a horrible, horrible, horrible, hot, hot, hot hike until water at Rodriquez Spur. I ate a special Sabbath lunch there that I had gotten from the local camping store in Chattanooga. I waited out the heat.
I then went on a few more miles to find a tent spot in anticipation for getting into Julian the next day.
